Video source notes

One per world.
Somebody built a mountain.

The clean version of this story is that 2b2t protects rarity and 6b6t destroyed it. The sources make that contrast messier, and this page says how.

Scarcity was the only thing holding the egg up.

A world produces exactly one dragon egg. It cannot be crafted and it cannot be split. On a server that patches duplication, that fact does the work: one item, thousands of players, and a legend that everyone maintains by agreeing to maintain it.

6b6t stopped agreeing. Duplication there was not a bug that slipped through — it was switched on deliberately to move the economy, starting with an item-frame dupe in the first months of the current map, then a donkey dupe, then a chunk-corruption dupe the players found themselves, then more. Today the server runs announced, funded, time-boxed duplication events. Eggs exist in shulker quantities.

“Everyone duped them until sheep were rarer than dragon eggs.”

What did not happen is the interesting part. There is no war over the egg on 6b6t that we could find — no siege, no manhunt, no betrayal. The server’s wars are about stashes, and when a stash is cracked, raiders take crystals, totems, XP bottles and gear. Things that get spent. The egg gets left in the chest, because it cannot kill anyone. Value moved from what is scarce to what is consumable.

One story was cut from the video after checking: a widely repeated tale of a player scammed out of a dragon egg for a million in-game coins turned out to have happened on a different server, before that player ever arrived on 6b6t. It had drifted into 6b6t’s history by repetition. That is a general hazard with anarchy-server history — a lot of the old records were written by the players themselves, in imitation of 2b2t’s style, and some of it was a joke that stuck.

This is where the video’s framing needs qualifying, and the sources are the reason why.

Duplication glitches Primary

2b2t’s dupe history — including that duped items are generally allowed to stay in players’ hands, and that patching has not always been quick. Complicates any clean “2b2t protects rarity” reading.

Where the sources disagree.

The central contrast in this video is real but softer than the clean version, and the dupe chronology does not line up across sources.

A lot of early anarchy-server history was written by the players it is about, in deliberate imitation of 2b2t’s style. Where a story exists in exactly one place and flatters its author, this page treats it as folklore until something else supports it.
